What the Financial Planning Association has to say about planning for retirement

According to the FPA’s 2017 Live the Dream report, more than a third (36%) of adult Tasmanians don’t have a clear plan for their financial future and “take each day as it comes”. To put it into perspective Victorians are the most well organised with only 19% failing to financially plan ahead.

The survey showed Australians most happy with their lot in life were also most likely to have a financial plan. 42% of Tasmanians surveyed said they were “somewhat”, “very” or “extremely” stressed about their financial situation, with 72% saying they were “slightly stressed” or worse.

Having a plan is the best way for you to make the most of your hard-earned money, achieve your financial goals both up to and through retirement, avoid expensive financial mistakes and have peace of mind.
