We virtually caught up with Julie recently to get the low down around her experiences with MyState Bank Online Banking so far, and of course to find out the grand plans for her prize!

Q. What made you decide to sign up to Online Banking?
A. Late last year I started a new mortgage with MyState Bank, I just wanted to be able to keep an eye on how I was travelling with payments. I also wanted the ability to set up new accounts for the benefit of saving.
Q. What do you like about Online Banking?
A. It’s easy to use. I’m a typical millennial and don’t like talking to people. Online Banking is a flexible platform for keeping any eye on my banking requirements.
Q. What’s your favourite feature about the MyState Bank App and Internet Banking?
A. It’s easy to navigate. There are no unnecessary features. What you need the most is on the first screen you open.
Q. What’s your favourite thing about being able to bank on the go?
A. You are not dictated to by call centre opening hours. Normally I don’t get quiet time to myself until late at night, this is often the time I can sit down and log in and get things done without interruption.
Q. Do you find you still need to visit a branch or can you do everything you would usually do in a branch from your device?
A. Picking up my prize voucher was the first time I have visited a branch in a very long time. Everything I need done, can easily be done online
Q. Where’s the weirdest place you’ve had to do your banking online (mine was making an urgent transfer in the dingy whilst out fishing!)?
A. It is safe to say that during “lock down”, I have been utilising A LOT of local businesses for their food and alcohol. I have very often been at my front door completing an online transfer in exchange for meat, cider, wine and cheese.
Q. Was there anything you were surprised by or which may have exceeded your expectations throughout the process of getting onto and using Online Banking?
A. How easy it was to set up. There was a very quick phone call to obtain the customer ID and password and five minutes later I was able to login.
Q. Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about your experiences banking online with MyState Bank?
A. It was all just a very personalised experience. It didn’t feel like I was dealing with robots like you get when dealing with the bigger banks.
Q. What would your advice to people who might be unsure of making the switch to Online Banking be?
A. It’s a very streamlined process! You won’t be disappointed.
Q. What are you most looking forward to about your Saffire Freycinet stay?
A. Like so many people, I had to cancel an interstate holiday, driving through the outback to Uluru. The AIR BNB refunds quickly turned into a computer and stationary I needed to get the kids ready for home-schooling. This Saffire trip will be an amazing couple of days to recover and celebrate getting through the last few months.
Q. Do you have any idea what your plans for the $1000 for ‘special extras’ are?
A. A while ago, I jumped on the back of my partner’s motorbike and was immediately hooked. I became very aware, very quickly on the cost associated to set myself up to ride so the idea of riding myself was quickly set aside. On the day of receiving my voucher - I purchased a helmet, jacket and pants and have the funds to sit the two day learner course! We now have plans to replan our trip to Uluru but swapping the car for two bikes.
