What do you need to open a bank account?

You can apply for any MyState Bank account online in less than 5 minutes. As an existing MyState Bank customer, simply log into your personal online portal to open a new account. For new customers, all you will need is one form of identification (Australian Driver Licence or Passport). To qualify, you need to be at least 16 years of age, an Australian resident and have an Australian mailing address.

Can you open a bank account online?

Yes, absolutely. You’ll need about 5 minutes and 1 form of identification to get started. Once you’ve successfully submitted your application online, you’ll receive an email with your account details and information on how to access your app and internet banking. If you have an iOS device you’ll be able to set up Apple Pay. Just add your new MyState Visa Debit card to your Apple Wallet and start using it immediately. Your physical card will be mailed to you.
