DIY Upcycled Herb Garden Activity
First published on April 11, 2019
If you’re looking for a fun, savings savvy activity, we’ve got you sorted with this DIY upcycled herb garden. We created ours on the balcony for just over $40. If you want to do it for less, start with only a couple of varieties, smaller punnets or propagate your own.
The best part is it suits any space, whether you live in a small apartment or on a huge property.
Step 1. Get thrifty at your local op shop or tip shop. We sourced these awesome ‘pots’ for 3 bucks each!
Step 2. Choose your herbs. We used sage, mint, parsley and thyme which are perfect for the cooler months.
Step 3. Get potting! Herby hint: place pebbles in the bottom of the pots to avoid root rot during winter.
Step 4. Style your herb garden with whatever you’ve got floating around. We found this ladder and old apple box in the garden to bring the look together.
